Industrial or traditional rum is produced by distillation of fermented by-products of the sugar or molasses industry.
Agricultural rum is produced from fermented sugar cane juice.
It is traditionally white, but it is now available aged in cask (old rum) or spicy; it then takes on a more or less dark amber color.
